I picked up this Cuisinart DCC-690 simply knowing that it wouldn't suck. For the (less-than) $100 I paid for it, I am quite happy with its performance. It is reliable thus far, the brew is decent, and my favorite thing is that the brewing/grinder assembly is fully washable. A lot of folks don't know that coffee makers and mills NEED to be cleaned

Machine is easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee. It also looks good in the kitchen. I like the replaceable water filter. Grinder is a bit loud and grinds a bit longer than expected. There are several parts to wash and rinse, but it's worth the 2 extra minutes.

I just purchased the Cuisinart Grind and Brew. The coffee really tastes great. The only problem that I have is that the unit must be cleaned after each use. We found that cuisinart grind & brew coffee maker (dcc-690pc)to be dangerous. In the six months that we've owned this coffee maker, the spring locked door popped open on it's own when the brew cycle began, spilling hot water on our counter top. Since we set the automatic timer, not a great way to wake up in the morning. I called customer service,
