Ok, ok, I have read the reviews. A friend gave me this coffee maker after she had the same experience as other reviewers. She had messes on the counter, floor, etc., and practically threw it at me. I HAVE TWO OF THESE COFFEE POTS (ONE FOR FLAVORED AND ONE FOR REGULAR) AND AFTER THE FIRST TIME IT OVERFLOWED I DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A LITTLE BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FILTER BASKET THAT PUSHES UP WHEN THE COFFEE POT IS INSERTED.
